BOTOX Cosmetic is a simple, non-surgical, treatment that can
temporarily smooth moderate to severe frown lines between the
brows in people from 18 to 65 years of age. It is the only treatment
of its type approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
One 10-minute treatment – a few tiny injections – and
within 7 days to 2 weeks there’s a noticeable improvement
in those persistent lines between the brows, which can last
up to 4 months. Results may vary.
BOTOX Cosmetic is a purified protein produced by the Clostridium
botulinum bacterium, which reduces the activity of the muscles
that cause those frown lines between the brows to form over
time.
A million people have been treated with FDA-approved BOTOX
Cosmetic. There’s only one BOTOX Cosmetic. Call our office

ABOUT BOTOX®
How it works?
BOTOX Cosmetic is used to treat wrinkles which
are caused by contractions of the delicate underlying fascial
muscles every
time you smile, laugh or frown. The more emotion you show,
the deeper these wrinkles and lines are likely to be. BOTOX
Cosmetic blocks impulses from the nerve to the tiny facial
muscles that are related to expression lines. BOTOX Cosmetic
relaxes the muscles so they do not contract, thereby ridding
your face of wrinkles. This treatment can be used to eliminate
forehead lines, lines around the eyes, forwn lines, and neck
creases. It can be used to lift one’s eyebrows and even
create an arch.
Benefits and Side Effects:
No downtime. Patients can immediately resume normal activities.
Long experience has proven BOTOX to be safe. To date, no systemic
complications associated with Botox injections have been documented.
The effects last from 3-4 months and require repeat treatments.
Possible side effects include local numbness, swelling, bruising,
or a burning sensation durin injection. Some patients have reported
temporary headache and nausea. Most complications are of short
duration and can be avoided with proper techniques.
A small pecentage of patients are reported to experience no
improvement at all. Botox injections for asthetic purposes
appear to be safe and effective. Patients who show early signs
of aging,
as well as those who may not be suitable candidates for more
extensive aesthetic facial surgery, may be good candidates
for this procedure. Certain medications (some antibiotics, anti-inflammatories,
or aspirin) and even some vitamins and herbs may increase
the
potency of Botox and may increase bleeding and bruising at
the time of injection. Therefore, patients should be candid
with
their healthcare providers about all medications and supplements.
Pregnant or nursing women should postpone undergoing this
procedure. It is not known whether injection of Botox has any
side effect
on a fetus or whether it is found in breast milk.
Due to its success rate, many pleased clients, and general
word of mouth, Botox is becoming increasingly popular. It’s
the ideal form of treatment for those who do not wish to face
the risk of surgery, do not have the time to undergo complicated
procedures, and are satisfied with being treated for a few minutes
every three to four months. Plus, since it is not as radical
as surgery, the anti-aging process that Botox causes appears
natural so that those around you will comment on your more and
more youthful appearance but will never suspect that your secret
to success is Botox. That is, of course, unless you tell them.
It is always important to remember, when considering Botox,
or any other cosmetic procedure, the setting for such a procedure
should be a clinic with qualified and accredited professionals
administering the treatment. Under these conditions, the consumer
is guaranteed to receive safe and effective treatment and minimize
the potential for misuse of the product.
